Charles
Charles joined Waterloo Independent School from China and quickly became an active and confident member of the WIS community. With strong discipline and determination, he excelled both academically and in athletics, ultimately becoming a 2023 OUA Men’s Tennis Champion—an achievement that reflects his hard work and passion for the sport. Charles often mentions that the supportive teachers and small class sizes at WIS helped him stay motivated, focused, and comfortable asking for help when needed. Today, he is studying at the University of Toronto, continuing to build on the solid foundation he developed at WIS and pursuing new opportunities with confidence.


Isabel
Isabel joined Waterloo Independent School as an exchange student from Brazil and quickly became a beloved member of the WIS community. Friendly, respectful, and always eager to learn, she formed strong connections with both classmates and teachers. Isabel’s positive attitude and kindness made her stand out—she treated everyone with genuine warmth and showed deep respect for her teachers, earning admiration from the entire school.
Throughout her time at WIS, Isabel brought a lively and welcoming spirit to the classroom and school activities. Her ability to adapt, communicate, and build meaningful relationships enriched the experiences of those around her. She remains fondly remembered at WIS for her openness, cultural curiosity, and the joy she brought to the community.
Hunter
Hunter served as the Student Council President during the first semester of 2023, where he demonstrated strong leadership, responsibility, and a genuine commitment to supporting the WIS community. Known for his calm and thoughtful approach, Hunter played an important role in organizing student activities and helping create a positive, collaborative school environment.
In addition to his leadership, Hunter is highly recognized for his exceptional musical talent, especially in piano. His skill, passion, and dedication to music have impressed both teachers and classmates, making him a memorable and inspiring presence at WIS. Hunter’s combination of artistic ability and leadership has left a meaningful impact on the school community.

Ahmad

Ahmad served as the 2024 Student Council President at Waterloo Independent School, where he was widely recognized for his responsibility, leadership, and ability to bring students together. Throughout his time at WIS, Ahmad played an active role in organizing school events, supporting new students, and creating a welcoming and collaborative campus atmosphere.
Known for his strong communication skills and positive attitude, Ahmad consistently demonstrated maturity and initiative both inside and outside the classroom. His commitment to representing student voices and building community made a meaningful impact on the school. As he continues his academic journey, Ahmad carries with him the confidence, leadership experience, and strong foundation he developed at WIS.
Calvin
Calvin served as the Student Council Vice President for consecutive years, becoming a dependable and trusted leader within the WIS community. Throughout his time on the council, Calvin was known for his dedication, professionalism, and strong sense of responsibility. He consistently supported the Student Council Presidents, playing a key role in planning events, coordinating activities, and ensuring that every initiative ran smoothly.
Calvin’s steady leadership and commitment made him an invaluable part of the student government team. His reliability and willingness to help wherever needed earned him the respect of both students and staff. Calvin’s contributions have left a lasting impact on the WIS community, reflecting his hard work, teamwork, and genuine care for the school.

Ella

Ella is the current Student Council President at Waterloo Independent School, where she is recognized for her strong leadership, organization, and commitment to building a positive school community. As a thoughtful and proactive leader, Ella works closely with both students and staff to coordinate events, support new initiatives, and ensure that student voices are heard.
Known for her maturity, communication skills, and collaborative spirit, Ella approaches every responsibility with dedication and care. She leads by example—motivating her peers, fostering teamwork, and bringing fresh ideas to student life at WIS. As she continues her role, Ella remains focused on creating an engaging, inclusive, and vibrant school environment for all students.
Ethan
Ethan was a highly engaged and motivated student during his time at Waterloo Independent School, where he served as the 2023 Student Council President. Known for his leadership, strong communication skills, and dedication to the school community, Ethan helped organize student events, support peers, and foster a positive and collaborative school environment.
Academically strong and deeply curious, Ethan excelled in math and science throughout high school, which led him to pursue his passion for innovation and problem-solving. He is now studying Engineering at the University of Toronto, one of Canada’s top programs. Ethan credits WIS for helping him develop confidence, leadership experience, and a strong academic foundation that continues to support his success at the university level.
